Recently I started helping a friend running his photography tours in HoiAn. It is an interesting experience. It is a combination of teaching and guiding. Having actively avoided teaching anything since stopping teaching english more than a decade ago it has been an odd transition. However, I have started to look at it in a different way. I think of it more as sharing. I was fortunate enough to have some great people share their knowledge of photography with me when I first started out and I have always tried to help others who come to me for advice on anything related to this business. So perhaps in a way, I never really stopped teaching.
